Good point. But that depends on your interpretation of the american educational system. Some would argue that the american educational system was created to ensure a docile population thus perpetuating ignorance. I don't think this is true but I do think that the current educational system often contributes to ignorance, intentionally or not.

Yes, the educational system was created with a very virtuous vision (NOT the subordination of a docile people). That vision, unfortunately, has declined in recent times (just look at some of the population of NHS). Nevertheless, with a good administration unlike the current one, its systemic but yet simple flaws would be easily corrected.
